Re: 2000 catalog page 16 —Shiri Dori
(...) That's the one! I liked the book. Although by the print size it seems to be for smaller-than-me kids... not that I care, my english reading level is adaptable... :-) -Shiri FUT o-t.fun (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: 2000 catalog page 16 —Bruce Schlickbernd
(...) Heck, I didn't read the Chronicles of Prydain by Alexander until I was in my 30s. Great books regardless of the age of their intended audience. Bruce (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: 2000 catalog page 16 —Shiri Dori
(...) Point taken. :-) This the first Alexander book I've read (actully, it's the only one). Are his other books good? Any specific ones you recommend? -Shiri (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: 2000 catalog page 16 —Jeff Stembel
(...) The Prydain Chronicles (The Book of Three, The Black Cauldron, The Castle of Llyr, Taran Wanderer, and The High King) is one of the best Fantasy series I've read (especially for a Juvenile/Young Adult fiction series). Unfortunately, I broke my (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16) —Shiri Dori
(...) Sounds like I've got a lot of reading to catch up on ;-) Well, I've also got a lot of homework to catch up on... Thanks for the suggestion! I still have to finish "Wizard of Earthsea" before I can start anything else, tho' - it's loaned from (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16) —Erik Olson
... lots of snipped quotes ... Hmm, which book is Phlewder Phlam in? One of Lloyd Alexander's one-of-a-kind books is: The Marvelous Misadventures of Sebastian. Though I liked the Prydain books a lot, this no-magic tale was weirdly fun. Hey, somebody (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Earthsea (was Re: Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16)) —James Brown
(...) Woohoo! Earthsea is one of my favorite series. LeGuin has a rare talent for 'minimalist' descriptions - very capable of drawing out the essence of something in very few words. You know, the sort of skill Robert Jordan could use... <GD&R> James (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Earthsea (was Re: Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16)) —Erik Olson
Look out, fans of EarthSea, your world is about to be changed forever... Some fans of EarthSea would rather creator Ursula K. LeGuin had not revisited what seemed to her to be an unresolved trilogy. The trickle of new stories and novels is (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16) —Jeff Stembel
(...) I can't remember, but I had a heckuva time finding a copy. It is similar to The Foundling and Coll and his White Pig, in that it tells about Fflewddur Fflam's life before he appeared in the Prydain Chronicles. I think the title had his name in (...)          Re: Lloyd Alexander books (was:Re: 2000 catalog page 16) —Erik Olson
Man, I have got to re-read all of these, that is, the ones I didn't read the first time around! Last summer I picked up the Book of Three because my friend Bryce left it around. Oops, two summers ago. (...) Sebastian is this ordinary guy who goes (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Hey, I'm a bookwyrm too - 'cept I don't have any time! Arrgh! (...) Tell me about it... C: (...) I haven't had a chance to read the fourth either. Or the third, or second, for that matter. I've barely started the first... ;-P -Shiri (24 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
