Ah... didn't we all? :) ["They're uh... for my nephew!"]

Some of these sound like RTL roll call questions-- maybe we should bug Todd to
put some of this info in our member info pages? At least basic stuff like # of
pieces, collecting since when, # of sets, monthly budget, etc...
Anyway, I'm not sure I qualify as a 'heavy hitter', but I'll give it a go...
> Roughly, what is the size of your collection?
about 65,000 pieces, between 400-450 sets (depends what you call a set, too...
But I've only gotten about 1,000 pcs from sources other than 'sets')
I'm just shy of 1,000 minifigs (978 or so? Unless you count skeletons, in which
case I'm over 1K), and I've got 421 castle figs

Good questions I think it's most appropriate to answer both in one go:
- About 15,000 pieces were accumulated from 1980-1989 (my childhood-- although
I got a few DUPLO sets when I was younger, but I no longer have 'em)
- About 0 pieces from 1990-1993 (dark ages!)
- About 15,000 pieces from 1994-1998 (my quasi no money ages aka college years)
- About 35,000 pieces from 1999-2000 (the 'I finally have a job!' age)

That varies invariably. Anywhere from 0 to 20 hours a week, nowadays

I don't really have an idea on this one... maybe 500-1000 a month recently?
I've been bad as of late... >:)

Well, being that I don't really HAVE a family yet, no-- I'm not supporting
anyone but me, so nobody really minds... Most of my friends think it's neat but
certainly no conflicts...
> When you build a large project, do you sketch plans or improvise as you go?
The answer to this would have to be yes. When I built my AT-AT, I planned
non-stop. Very little was spur of the moment. But for other projects
(espectially landscapes!) it's very much improvisational. Very little actually
is planned out in advance...

| I'm always amazed at the pictures that are posted of the large creations and the large minifig armies. For me it's been about eight years since my renaissance (shortly after getting married...hmm, I wonder what that means??) and I've picked up what (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)
