  Virtual locomotive MOC

On Remberance day, I sat right here, watching the ceremonies at the Cenotaph from my 13th floor perch in New Westminster. When the skirl of bagpipes gave way to silence, I thought of my dad. And that always brings me to trains. Crunching through the (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.build)

BrickDreams Update - New Scenes, Gear Model & Other Stuff (long)

Well, I received quite a few responses to my site survey, and public opinion seems to sway towards the following trends: *Larger Scene Sizes - About half of all who responded indicated that they would make use of larger scene sizes. The largest and (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray)

Thank YOU for making that great tutorial Geoff I'm sure we're many that has really been needing that for a long time: Personally I tried to assemble the bits and pieces strewn across lugnet and brickshelf to get the kind of renderings I've (...)   Re: Outlined part edges in L3P?

(...) First, I don't think that it is related to the "smooth triangle" algorithm, because this is independent of the scale of the triangles, it only deals with their surface normals. The basic problem is, that there is no such thing as a line in (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.inst)

Re: Can anyone help by suggesting some lighting tips?

(...) Ah, O.K. I think I see how this works. You're effectively telling POV-RAY, "here's a color file I want you to use. Now, here's what color you should assign that file to. In other words, when I say RED from now on, I want you to use that LUGNET (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  LGEO Problem in POV-Ray

Hi, I've just been getting familiar will LCad & POV-Ray the past few days and things have been moving along fine but recently I've run into a problem with a certain model/piece. Mike, In the first image, there are no shadows. What you see are reflections. The reflection of the smoke stack on the top of the engine compartment looks like a shadow because the smoke stack is darker than the abient light you see other places. (...) It appears from this discussion that methods already exist, its just that they are not particularly easy to use or accessible. Whatever solution we choose, we need to think about usability.
