(...) The rendering window in POVRAY is just showing you what the program is creating. It should create a .bmp file in your LDRAW/MODELS directory. If it isn't there, do a search on your hard drive for *.bmp (every .bmp file). You should find a file (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  4589 problem?
 
I've noticed on a few recent POV-Ray attempts that part 4589 Cone 1 x 1 doesn't show up properly, as though the surface isn't rendering, leaving only the central stem of the cone. I don't recall this happening before, but I'm not sure that I (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  beginner here - very simple question
 
Hey everyone, as I am VERY new to Pov-Ray, I just have one question: When I have completed running my render of a pov file, and the rendered image is on the screen in the rendering window, how do I turn that image into a bitmap or jpeg file? (...) FYI... Anyone rendering the Shiva motorcycle or anything using the 4x7x2 rounded windscreen needs to grab a copy of an updated part. Hi all, Today I have put up some new renders of models at my site. Among them are the projects that are already there: Impossible figures, Infinate Waterfall (Escher), Rhino and the Black and Blue Space Ship. What is new? There is a new "Render" (...) I recently got an old version of lightwave (5.6) running. I used a ldraw to lightwave conversion utility and made this little test rendering.   "Sticker" images
 
I have a sticker image that I want to put in a rendering. It's going to span multiple bricks. It's not a sticker that LEGO ever made. I reinstalled L3P and Pov-Ray and most everything is back to normal. I can actually render a .pov file now. However, it is rendering in a *very* small window. Previously, the renderings took up the entire screen. How can I change this? -Kyle (...) (23 years ago, 20-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) In general, improved results for any rendering are accomplished by editing the POV file. Each LDRAW part gets converted to a POV 'object' when you run L3P. Well... I know it's been a while... Anyway, it seems that you guys picked up on it and now the answer is easy 'cause -sc "#if (clock > n)" has been added to L3PAO. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. However I'm having trouble with telling POV-Win to (...) (23 years ago, 20-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Thanks for the reply. After some research and plowing thru the POV manual I experimented with adding simular lines to the main pov.ini file and got the results I was looking for. It would certainly be nice if Jeff Boen (of L3PAO fame) added the (...) (23 years ago, 24-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Something similar hapened to me when I first started playing with l3p and pov-ray. My problem was that I was missing two updates for the LGEO librairy. I only had the initial release. The original librairy and the updates can be found on this (...) (23 years ago, 14-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)
