(...) L2P is Lutz Uhlman's program for converting an LDraw .DAT file to POV-Ray format, using the LGEO library exclusively. You don't need to use L2P if you don't want to. Tim, I use the LGEO library, and use L3P with the L3Pao to generate the POV files. I haven't had many problems at all. (...) the gears are not rounded, which is probably because you haven't used the LGEO library? Using LGEO gives better results, in my opinion. Hi Tim, This is a great scene. Thanks for taking the time to render it. I really enjoy rendered pictures of LEGO (be they of bricks or scenes) for my desktop, but I haven't been seeing many new ones recently. Because of that, I've been playing (...) I just threw together this design for a LEGO wallpaper last night. I know its not the greatest thing in the world, but it was a quick one - inspired by the memory of the (apparently) long lost BrickDreams renderings. All I really did was put light (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)  
 
  Converting and background in POV-Ray
 
I have one more question and sorry if this was discused before. How can I add background picture (.bmp) to rendered .pov models ? And my second question is - how can I then (after adding background and rendering complet picture) convert .pov file to (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad)

I forgot to mention, when you use 3DWin, convert the .dat file to a .dxf then convert that to pov/moray. it works a lot better than converting them directly. I use 3DWin (URL) to convert to Moray (URL) have to re-color the parts, but if you use l3p to make pov files of the model you can copy the colors created to the material editor in moray. I spent a lot of time useing this before I learned to move the (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad)

nope, there isn't really. There is Moray, but I have never gotten something that can succesfully convert between the two (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad)
