(...) After a tip-off from Jamie O'brien, I've confirmed that the problem is that I have spaces in the path to MLCAD (I have it installed in c:\program files\mlcad on both PCs). When I put it in a path without spaces, it works fine. ROSCO (23 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I've become slighly annoyed with the fact that when I open and then save a .DAT file the NAME block in the file gets changed to *.ldr. I'm trying to find the problem (if there is one). Because in my case MLCad only asks once, then never again. So I wonder if you start any other application registering for ldr or mpd file types?
