  Re: Registering file types

(...) After a tip-off from Jamie O'brien, I've confirmed that the problem is that I have spaces in the path to MLCAD (I have it installed in c:\program files\mlcad on both PCs). When I put it in a path without spaces, it works fine. ROSCO (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Auto changing of the Name block in a .DAT/.LDR file

I've become slighly annoyed with the fact that when I open and then save a .DAT file the NAME block in the file gets changed to *.ldr. I've been using MLCad to do part authoring anbd the Parts Tracker will not accept anything other than a *.dat in (...) (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Yes. I also have done this several times, cursing my unsteady mousing hand afterwards. :-) This would be a great addition.   Re: Registering file types

(...) OK I loaded ldraw / MLCad on the PC at my office (NT) and it does the same thing. This was a new install - never had it on that PC before. I looked in Explorer, and it has LDR & MPD registered as "MLCAD document". But it still asks me if I (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Alert box request

Michael, Several times now I have gone to select Settings>Change and instead hit Settings>Default and my customized settings are lost. Could you perhaps make an alert box pop up asking, "Are you sure you want to restore settings to default?" Thanks! (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Registering file types

Not AFAIK. What other programs would be likely to register those file types? The only other programs I regularly use on the laptop are stuff like MS Office. Also, it continues to ask even if I just start MLcad, exit, and start it again immediately. (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) Enhancement suggestion: Consider a place, perhaps in settings, where you can ask MLCad to register filetypes "again". The way some programs do it, where they ask you each time they realise that they're not registered for a filetype is (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Registering file types

I'm trying to find the problem (if there is one). Because in my case MLCad only asks once, then never again. So I wonder if you start any other application registering for ldr or mpd file types?   Registering file types

Hi Michael, When I start up MLCad (2.12) it shows the following dialog: MLCad is not (properly) registered for it's file types. Register it now? Even if I press YES, it still asks the next time I start it. Any ideas? I definitely have admin rights (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Enhancement request - File dialogs

I think the File dialogs could benefit from some improvement in how path is determined. This applies to at least export model and export submodels (in Multipart mode) Both default to the root of the C drive and don't remember last filepath selected. (...)
