Hi, I just updated the MLCad.ini file accordingly to the latest LDraw.org parts update 2005-01. The .ini file defines the parts available in MLCad's minifigure generator. (...) You'll find that many of the colors on that list are already recognized by MLCad. For instance, if you type 383 in as a color number, and then hit Tab, it shows Chrome as the color name. Is there a configuration file or a way I can enter all these color values into MLCAD so each time I use it the appropriate color names and color numbers are already in the MLCAD color picker? - John [SNIP] (...) OK, I think I found a partial answer to my question. It looks like I can cross reference LEGO part colors to LDRAW color numbers here: (URL) opens another question for me though. Is there a way I can change MLCADS color list so that it will have all (...) (19 years ago, 27-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) If the color has an LDraw color number, you can just type the number into the Color number field in the MLCad "Select color" dialog. When creating some models in MLCAD I come across some colors that are not part of the default palette in MLCAD. How do I find out what color number to specify? (...) Actually, front and back are the same in both projections. One might argue that since MLCad does the top and bottom views that we're expecting, that this invalidates the argument. (...) Hmm, maybe. But in both first- and third-angle projections, the central view/projection shows the same side of the object. (...) Hi David, rect3.dat is a primitive which should have been put in your LDRAW\P directory. Check that directory to make sure it is there and has that file. If not, you should download the latest official parts file from here (URL) will need (...) (19 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I get the error message "rect3.dat not found continue loading Yes/No". It doesn't matter what I select I still get lots of these messages. I haven't got this file in my directory. What have I done wrong, is there something I haven't downloaded? (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) Sorry for the smartypants non-answer, but you'd probably find it easier going to just model the minifg in Maya to begin with. (...) It's certainly theoretically possible to convert much of the geometry with high polygon counts. LDraw primitives are such that a smart converter can use aribtrary complexity for cylinders, spheres, tori, etc. Having said that, it doesn't sound (...)
