Re: New unofficial LeoCAD parts update

Philippe, Thank you so much!! you can not imagine how grateful I am (finally I can complete my 16-wide pirate ship MOC). Your update seems to work flawlessly, so two thumbs up! One thing, It's probably the best if these updates are (also) available (...) (22 years ago, 21-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  New unofficial LeoCAD parts update

I had no negative returns for my previous parts update (URL) (but I had no positive ones either!), so I have prepared a new part update in-sync with latest LDraw parts. The files are available from (URL) if you hear me, it would be better to keep (...) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: New experimental LeoCAD parts update available

(...) Librairies are not compatible, but you can import Ldraw parts in LeoCAD (File > Parts manager > file > import pieces). You must exist and restart LeoCAD before imported parts are available. Parts should be in a valid LDraw folder structure so (...) (22 years ago, 7-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: New experimental LeoCAD parts update available

(...) Are the parts compatible? Can they be batch-converted? (22 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

New experimental LeoCAD parts update available

As there was no LeoCAD parts updates for a year, I took the bull by the horns and built an update corresponding to LDraw.org Parts Update 2003-02 (no offense, Leonardo, I know what lack of time is!) This should be considered an experimental release, (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: No more parts updates?

Ahhhh, Leonardo good to hear from you ! Bad to hear that you lost your program tools, That kind of thing happens at least once to all of us I guess ;-). Well, I do have problems with the piece library manager. Sometimes the program simple freezes up (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: No more parts updates?

I've lost my old hard drive with the library source files so I haven't tried to create any more updates in a while. I use the piece manager to import files, I'm not sure why you think it's buggy. Leonardo (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  No more parts updates?

There are already 2 more ldraw part updates out there and there's still no Leocad version for it. I already send Leonardo an email but he didn't respond, what's happened to him? (Is Leocad still alive?) I sort of need the parts in these updates and (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Using unofficial parts in LeoCAD

(...) D'oh! There it is. Thanks! I'm sure it wasn't there before... honest. :) Regards, Allan B. (23 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Using unofficial parts in LeoCAD

(...) Go to the File menu and click on "Pieces Library Manager" in the main window then "Import LDraw Piece" from the new window. Leonardo (23 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Using unofficial parts in LeoCAD

I'm wondering if it's possible to import or otherwise utilize some of the unofficial LDraw parts in LeoCAD. I've recently found a few things I would like to use, but I can't find any way or reference to importing parts. Any thoughts? Thanks, Allan (...)   Re: LeoCAD wont save as .dat file.

(...) Just tryed it. Typed .dat after the file name and select the .dat save as type. And it worked. I thought i had to just select save as type as .dat. Thanks (23 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: LeoCAD wont save as .dat file.

(...) That's weird, I just tested and it works correctly for me. Are you typing the .dat extension? Leonardo (23 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: LeoCAD wont save as .dat file.

(...) Strange, I often use that feature, and never had a problem (except with the extension when I forget to replace .lcd with .dat). Do you use it under Windows or Linux ? Philo (23 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Problems exporting from LeoCAD to LDraw .dat format

(...) Both lines are equally valid. (...) That's an error in LPub then. (...) Probably because it: 1) is easier to do 2) makes the files easier to read for a human Play well, Jacob (23 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: LeoCAD wont save as .dat file.

(...) I know about the drop down and save as. The program won't do it. (23 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: LeoCAD wont save as .dat file.

(...) Just choose "Save as", and in file type drop list, choose "ldraw files (*.dat)" Note that according to your explorer setup (Windows) you may have to suppress the '.lcd' appended to file name. Philo www.philohome.com (23 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

LeoCAD wont save as .dat file.

Hi, Been using LeoCAD since 1998 and love it. Here is the question. LeoCAD won't let me save my projects as a .dat file at all? I want to view them in LDView (Works great) and Pov-Ray (having problems with it but that is a different subject). (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.leocad)
