The LDraw Standards Committee, or LSC, is a special committee, recognised by the
bylaws as a special sort of SIG with special processes, that is in charge of
developing, codifying, and fostering the growth of the file, naming, coding and
other appropriate standards that make up an important part of the LDraw System.
It is primarily technical in focus.
The Steering Committee is charged with running/leading the overall organization
(based on input from the community, of course). It is primarily organizational
in focus.
Since it is the *LDraw* Steering Committee it does, unfortunately, have the
initials LSC, but to counteract confusion most of those of us that have been
organising things so far have been trying to use the short form SteerCo instead
of calling it LSC.
The LDraw Standards Committee has already been elected and is hard at work. This
election is for the Steering Committee and it is an artifact of how the
organization formed that the elections have been in the reverse of the order you
would expect them to be.
Hope that helps clear things up.
