Hey all (interested parties),
Please take a look at

and let me know what you think.
This is a temporary script and URL. Please don't think this is the final
configuration.
I'm working on a (more) final version, hopefully it will be ready before the
weekend.
There are a number of changes between the current ptreleases and this new
script:
- added release id, file size, and MD5 fingerprint information for each file
- reorganized the data so that each line of data represents a single file
(previously, each line represented one release with one-or-two files)
- moved the data-compilation to a separate script, with the compiled data
being stored for reference
The final version of the script will provide several options:
- XML or tab-delimited output
- filter by file type
- select the specific list of fields to return
Also, the final script will cache the response-streams for maximum efficiency.

| I like it. One other change you didn't mention is the addition of the BASE downloads. That's also very nice, because it allows an app to bootstrap itself completely, without requiring the user to first install LDraw. (Having said that, I'm not (...) (20 years ago, 27-Jul-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

| (...) OK, the URL is still temporary, but the script should be more-or-less done. Have at it, look for deficiencies, bugs, etc. If you don't remember the options, try adding ?help=1 to the url. | I have a request for a change to be made to the ptreleases.cgi script that keeps track of all parts updates. Unfortunately, if anyone has actually implemented support for automatic updates using this script, my suggested change might not be (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jul-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)
