Track Designer models a pair of monorail upper and lower ramp parts as a

one possible reason to have it seperate is that you could use the piece for
esthetic reasons.

Here's what I came up with:

The monorail parts file separately models the up and down ramps. So layouts
containing up/down ramps have two part references, one for each half.

The toolbar file contains a button that adds both halves to the layout, since
99% of the time, this is what you want to do. However, they're two parts, so the
part additions to the layout can then be edited separately. If desired, the user
can add additional buttons to place the ramp halves down one at a time.

Another reason could be that it is not possible to connect any other monorail
part between them. All other MR track have a male connector to the left and at
female to the right. But the upper side of the lower ramp part has two male
connectors, while the lower side of the upper ramp part has two female ones. I
don't know why, it makes it much less flexible for MOC constructions... :(
