Track Designer models a pair of monorail upper and lower ramp parts as a
single piece. Do you view this as a feature or a restriction?

Another reason could be that it is not possible to connect any other monorail
part between them. All other MR track have a male connector to the left and
at female to the right. But the upper side of the lower ramp part has two
male connectors, while the lower side of the upper ramp part has two female
ones.

I've gotten all of the monorail track modeled and working (sort of) in
TrackDraw. Here's what I ended up with:
- Most monorail track has a connection of type '1'. Type '1' just means that
it mates with other monorail pieces of type '1'.
- The spurs of the points and one end of the short curves have connections of
type '2'. Again, type '2' just means that those pieces only connect with other
'2's.
- The up/down ramp middle ends have connections of type '3x' and '3y'. The 'y'
means 'male' and the 'x' means 'female'. (A little chromosome humor there.) A
part of type 'x' can only mate with 'y' and vice-versa.
- The monorail toolbar has a pair of parts for the up/down ramps. Selecting the
button adds both to the layout, but then the pieces can be selected
individually.

By the way, I've decided to send out a pre-Beta version of TrackDraw to the kind
folks that have signed up for early versions, probably towards the end of next
week. This version will be for those who want to help out with creating part
libraries and internationalization. I'm working on the documentation -- as soon
as that's done, I'll release the program.
