The solution I came up with is that a single button press on the Monorail
toolbar adds both ramp halves to the layout. The pieces are individually
selectable, though. If a layout designer wants to 'dead-end' a monorail track
run with half of the ramp, they are free to delete the unwanted piece.
If you delete one half of the ramp from the layout, and then select the end of
the track, all monorail button choices are shaded red except for the matching
ramp piece.
I still don't have shadows working, so the ramp halves as drawn are
indistinguishable from a regular straight. I hope to get 'alpha' wrapped up soon
so I can move on to the bug fixing stage of development.
