Hmmm, must of had a bad day.  What I meant to say was Videoscape not VRML.

Even at the lowest setting file size is
around 90K, but at the highest setting I got a monster of 760K.  What is • the
group's feeling on this?  How much is too Much?

Not much of a response here, with the exception of onyx.  Thanks onyx for
your comments.  Maybe an example would break the ice.  I've put up a DAT up
on my webpage in the components section for everyone interested to examine
and comment on.  Please feel free to make any crictical observations that
come to mind with the following exceptions: I know there are no type 2 or 5
lines --- I know the interior surfaces are not right --- I know there is no
internal stud --- I know the visor indents are off --- and I know the
dimensions are not quite right.  BE WARNED the file size is VERY large
compared to other parts and that is what I'm most interested in.  Any
comments about what size would be better will be useful.

Sorry missed the relevance of this (the classic space helmet part) first time
around. I'll try and take a critical look at it tonight. My initial comment to
save bytes would be to round the co-ordinates off to three decimal places - at
most normal resolutions you should not see a difference, so long as you round
all references to the same point in the same way.
