Re: Making parts 2999 and 2998 work together

(...) I say reposition 2999. I think that the few, if any, models that use this part could be updated with relative ease and the frustration saved by going this route would offset any inconveinence. -Orion (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Making parts 2999 and 2998 work together

I posted a 'hold' review on the wheel from the 8080 Super Car (part 2998). You can read it at: (URL). The part file itself is good. Unfortunately, 2998 only fits with part 2999 (see 2999 at (URL). 2999 was released back in 1998. Right now, the two (...) (22 years ago, 2-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Need for rect primitive with two or one edge?

(...) What was it missing? We did have a problem running out of disk space recently, that could have caused the trouble. (...) I've rebuilt the zip file. I should probably set that up to run as a daily job. Steve (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.dev)

Updated Axle and Connect POV primitives

I updated the axle and connect primitve POV file. I also added POV code to the axlehole and connect primitves so that L3P add my code automatically. I put these in a zip file that just needs to be put into the /P directory. let me know if these are (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: lsynthcp community development project setup on sourceforge

(...) Don, I look forward to figuring this one out, but since it was not immediately obvious to me how to use it, I put it aside for now. (Just too much crap going on at the moment.) Thanks for bringing it to the Mac. Chris (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: Need for rect primitive with two or one edge?

(...) The Rectangle with 2 Parallel Edges (rect2p.dat) was already on the Parts Tracker. I've just added rect2a.dat (Rectangle with 2 Adjacent Edges) and rect1.dat (Rectangle with 1 Edge). I can't fix the zip file right now, but will try to get to (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDRAW and Blender

Hi Matthew, I've had Blender installed on my computer since Christmas but hadn't played with it much. After reading this, I've downloaded all the manuals and I am ready to go. This is the boost that I needed. Very promising - thanks a lot! (22 years ago, 30-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: When (if) to use optional lines?

(...) Hi Lance, I asked the same question last summer and since then have come to realize optional lines are useful. Here's the thread to my original question (and the many replies): (URL) a thread on how optional lines help smoothing algorithms: (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

When (if) to use optional lines?

I am just about to finish development of a fairly complicated piece (24-tooth gear with 3 axlesholes), and in looking at previous posts and documentation I have seen some talk about optional lines. Currently I have not used them at all. What are the (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Need for rect primitive with two or one edge?

Assuming these don't already exist (I looked for rect2.dat on Parts Tracker, but could find nothing -- speaking of which, the "complete" unofficial parts zip seems to be out of date, since it is missing some stuff): Would it be reasonable to create (...)   Re: LDRAW and Blender

Matthew, I was wondering when someone would develop an import routine for Blender. I have used and known about Blender for some time. Over time, I would not be surprised to see the community embrace Blender as its favorite renderer even over POVRAY (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  LDRAW and Blender

Hi all --- I am currently working on an LDRAW to Blender importer written in Python. For those of you who have never heard of Blender, it is a free, open source 3d modeler and renderer that includes a Python API (see it at www.blender.org). For (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

(...) Worked like a charm. Shoot...I should have thought of that. Boy do I feel stupid. Sorry about that! I'll shut up now. -- Steven (22 years ago, 30-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

(...) OK...I'm new to editing .DAT files (although this is an area I would like to improve). That was just too cool. I used LDraw Design Pad, removed the lines under the wire stub area, previewed the image (using the LDView button) and the wire was (...)   Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

(...) Yep, we sure have! I'm finding it incredibly useful for my multiple projects right now. Thanks again, Kevin, for your hard work with this! (...) And we're all better for it that you are :-) -Tim (22 years ago, 29-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

(...) Thanks Steve! Tim Courtney and I have been putting LPub through its paces trying to get stuff ready for BricksWest. I finished up building instructions for a pneumatic adding machine, and Tim has got some of his own tricks up his sleeve. I (...)   Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

Steven, My bad. 880A.DAT is an LSynth part that I failed to add to the setup list. You can make one of your own by copying 880.DAT to 880A.DAT. Edit 880A.DAT and remove the electric cord stub. I'll add it tto the distribution. Thanks, Kevin (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.6 Available

Kevin, Quick technical question. When I try to use the part 2982C02.DAT ~Electric Light Sensor (Complete Assembly Shortcut without wire) I receive a "File 880A.DAT not found! Continue loading?" error. When I respond yes, it loads the sensor but (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.cad.dev)
