You're both right and wrong.  I am right handed, but I use my left
hand for the mouse to avoid the pain of carpal tunnel.  That's why
I don't have any current gaming experience.

you could use pageup and down for movement along Y axis for Lefties.

Yeah, I like this because the arrow key mapping is exactly the same
as the LEDIT defaults for moving a part around.  I don't think I can
use Caps Lock to switch modes because of limitations with the GLUT
library, but maybe one of the function keys could do the trick.

Very nice would be a custom key assign via the config file or interface.

I guess if it's a special mode I could allow custom keys.
