Cool.
I'd prefer the primary file extension to reflect the 'LDraw' name - 'ldr.'
Some further discussion may be in order about DAT files having more than just
the .ldr extension - because of certain features of certain programs. I don't
think we should go overboard, though.

| (...) We could introduce a new meta-statement to track to the language extensions used by a model file. This would allow .dat, .ldl, .mpd, and .mlc files to all use a single extension. The .lds format is different enough that it should have a unique (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
