    Star Wars Elements —Steve Bliss
A general question, and some comments: Question: what parts, new in the SW sets, are people working on? Do you have the Parts Tracker updated? I know JVZ has some worked up. I'm not finding anything noted as Star Wars in the parts tracker, but if (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Steve Bliss wrote in message <36e41df1.21257934@l...et.com>... (...) Let's see, I did the 1X4 tile with red stripes, that should be close to 100% accurate. I did the outer shell of the x-wing windscreen, and the new wing piece is about 90% complete. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Steve Bliss wrote in message <36e41df1.21257934@l...et.com>... (...) Plow ahead. We're modelling the lego parts, not the exact pieces from the movies. Besides, they're not making any program to model the lego starwars rights. (25 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Jonathan Wilson
i think that the light saber blade should be called minifig light saber blade so that it isright next to the light saber hilt, where people would think to look. (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Steve Bliss
(...) No, it should be called 'Bar 4L'. That is the best description of what the piece *is*, rather than what it is currently being used *for*. Steve (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Todd Lehman
(...) I think it's highly unlikely that this new element won't show up in other places completely unrelated to SW and light sabres, and it probably will even show up in opaque colors. IMHO, calling this element a light sabre blade is like calling (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Terry Keller
(...) I agree. Naming pieces by their theme use is a bad idea. Usually. And Todd's mention of the "umbrella" is a good one. It, and the the "Umbrella stand" should have been given descriptive names based on their physical characteristics, not there (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —John VanZwieten
(...) the (...) At least "Star Wars people" would not have to go looking for it. Someone using the part who is unfamiliar with Star Wars sets might never think to look for it there. That's the basic problem with theme-based nomenclature. It makes (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Maybe this is one place where using a short-cut file would make sense. WE could place the actual file (XXXX.DAT) in the Bar category, and then name the SW version (which would just call the Bar file) XXXXA.DAT. --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ (...)          Re: Star Wars Elements —Mike Stanley
(...) Even better. Is it possible for one or more of the utilities to be able to associate 2 or more descriptive names with any given part? (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Steve Bliss
(...) These are computers. Anything is possible. All it takes is time and money. It wouldn't be hard to create a utility that would associate any number of names with a single part-number. I've got the beginnings of one already (sorry, it's in (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Inv DB (was: Star Wars Elements) —Steve Bliss
(...) Hmm. Let me add just a couple of bells and whistles, to make it more usable (and to document-by-example). The db is actually my tool[1] for writing LEGO set inventories. Part-lookup is just one important aspect of this activity. Steve -- 1-For (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Mike Stanley
(...) I guess that takes care of the percentage of people who want to use the two parts in this fairly limited SW way. But what about the other people who never really cared about the SW "use" of the elements - should they be forced to remember that (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Star Wars Elements —Steve Bliss
(...) This part is probably the one new element in the SW sets that I am most excited about. Well, I think having a bunch of light sabre hilts could be really cool, too.
