These are computers. Anything is possible. All it takes is time and
money.
It wouldn't be hard to create a utility that would associate any number of
names with a single part-number. I've got the beginnings of one already
(sorry, it's in MS-Access) But who's going to maintain something like
this?
What's more likely is that search utilities could be enhanced (or new ones
written) to track down parts based on additional information embedded in
each part-file.
