A tutorial would be nice, but a FAQ would be easier to put together.
Some additional material/ideas:
See <http://news.lugnet.com/cad/dev/?n=4818> for CATEGORY/KEYWORD.
Probably needs to be boiled down, it seems long.
I posted three basic guidelines about orientation & positioning a couple
weeks ago. <http://news.lugnet.com/cad/dev/?n=4987>. There's also a tip
or two on changing the position of the part after it's finished. O&P
guides could definitely be more fully explored.
ibid, see some information about plagarizing other people's parts.
There should be at least one 'Getting started' topic, like what you posted
in <http://www.lugnet.com/cad/dev/?n=3571>, and John posted in
<http://www.lugnet.com/cad/dev/?n=3619>.
ibid, how about a 'Getting started with patterned parts' topic?
Some topics can be culled from the under-development stuff at
<http://www.ldraw.org/dev/>. I especially like Tom Burger's LDU chart.
Some other ideas:
'Formatting the parts header'
'Naming your part'
'Numbering your part'
'Basic primitive usage'
'Advanced primitive usage'
'Official, unofficial, mockup'
'L3P compliance'
'BFC considerations'
'How many decimal places should I use?'
'How accurate do I have to be?'
'How do I submit a part?'
'Using subparts (compare and constrast subpart use in development and
publishing)'
'File types: parts, s\subparts, ~subparts, primitives, 48\primitives,
shortcuts, _shortcuts'
'What tools are available?'
'Making tubes/torii out of cylinder primitives'
