First I would like to point out, that some of the renderings I supplied specifically represent quads in GREY and tris in WHITE, and some have all the polys edge lines (the intrinsic edges) drawn, to be able to see the tesselation applyed. (...) LDraw code? With a circular shape having 16 segments, not eight as in your diagrams. If you think that is simpler for the parts authors (or that it requires a "tiny extra effort") as compared to superimposing a quad and a disc (two lines of (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Hmm. There's a couple of problems with your examples. In overdraw2.png, you are having the quad intersect the circle exactly at two vertices. If the quad was a bit narrower, you would need to split the two original triangles, retaining the (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
