8448 Flexible Axles (was Re: Parts from 8448 not LDrawn) —Steve Bliss
[FUT lugnet.cad.dev] Can anyone confirm or deny that the flexible axles in the 8448 Supercar were first released in Znap sets? Thanks! Steve (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.technic, lugnet.znap)

(...) Found it! (URL) They were *not* introduced in Znap. But the odd length axle with the stop-collar *was* introduced in Znap. (URL) So, should these parts be included in Technic, or should a new category for Znap be started? Steve (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I'd say include them in Technic. The odd stop collar axles were originally introced to accompany the flexible motorizeable axles in Znap (I think), but they still look like Technic for most LDraw users. Adding them to a Znap category would (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) There were flexible axles in the Znap (motorized) sets. But they are much different than the ones in the 8448. The ones in Znap are "drive" axles, they allow the motor to be in one orientation and the item(s) driven to be in another. It uses a (...)      I don't find much of ZNAP very useful (though I might buy a 3571 just to build a bridge), but I DO wish they had a ZNAP drive axle accessory pack!
