every part in the current voting batch is made with the real piece in hand. (this
also applies to parts not in the vote but posted to cad.dat.parts recently such as
the wheel hard plastic large)
every part has been checked by me before submission/posting. what i needd people
to do is look at the part and tell me if for example i am using the wrong
primitive or missing edge lines where there should be some etc. i have checked the
parts and made sure that as a representation of the part they are as close as it
is possible to get in ldraw but i am not magic. i do not know everything there is
to know about ldraw parts making. there are people out there (steve bliss for one
but there are others) who have been making ldraw parts for a while now and know
things like whether an edge line is required there.
also there may be mistakes in the part that i missed when checking the part. i
wend over the parts with a fine tooth comb but threre is probobly someone out
there who can go over them with an even finer tooth comb.i have checked every part
against the real thing and found nothing wrong with the parts (except for a few
things like the edges of the raised baseplate but i pointed those out to people
when i put them on cad.dat.parts and no-one said that i would need to do them to
get in. people said i did not need the edges on the baseplate or the inside of the
battery box.). that does not mean that there is nothing wrong with then, it just
means that i cant find anything wrong with them. i am not the only person to ever
make a part that has been checked over by the author and found by them to be
correct and someone else later finds a mistake. none of the parts is not sutible
for use in ldraw models and pov-ray renderings.

all i am asking is that you give me a chance. it took me a lot of effort to get my
hands on these parts to model and i genuinly want to contribute something back to
the community. i porimise not to ask for amy more parts or help on the newsgroup.

i notice that the greatest vioce agazinst me has come from people like tim
coutrney who have never made a part and who do not know how hard it can be for a
beginner like myself. do you think that people like steve bliss and chris dee made
parts that were perfect back when they were learning?

look at the example fo the aquanauts patterned tile that was posted several times
by someone who wanted to get it perfect.

(...) I agree completely with everything Tim wrote in his posting. I just didn't want to post now, because I've blasted you in the past. (...) I constantly make mistakes in parts, but I don't think Chris Dee ever has. (...) Which is a very good (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Jonathan, maybe we do need to try and respect your current attempts, but please try and follow some simple standards. I think that these are the biggest things that got people mad at you for 1. Don't post gobs of messages of .dats. If you just focus (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Usually I only stop by this group every once in awhile, but I've noticed this was building. (...) You were designing ldraw parts without actual pieces present for reference? I wouldn't put any confidence in a system like that. I sure am glad others (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
