  Re: [ldraw.org] Status/Help Needed

  Re: [ldraw.org] Status/Help Needed

(...) OK, I'll bump this up in priority. I think it's had enough airtime in the past week or so and no major problems in the paradigm were discovered. (...) It's more likely that things will be removed symbolically rather than literally -- by not (...) (26 years ago, 22-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: [ldraw.org] Status/Help Needed

I'd volunteer for Spanish/Dutch (with help from my parents ;) but I'm not quite fluent and I don't have enough time. (...) I've combined the original three LDraw (...)   "~moved to" files and parts.lst

Question for all, I have noticed that many people have been using "~moved to" files in modeling lately. These files are there strictly as a backwards compatibility measure, and really should not be used in new modeling at all. James would often (...) (26 years ago, 22-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  [ldraw.org] Status/Help Needed

As the site templates begin to take shape, we need to begin organizing volunteers for various aspects of the site.  This is the current status of various site areas: 1.   Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) Oops! I guess I should have specified what I meant: How did you get LDLite to generate the VEC Images? I didn't think there was an option for it. Jeff (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) Go directly into LDLite, and make sure the Options -> Shading menu item is checked. This setting will be remembered, so the VEC images generated *should* have shading. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) Mb, (...) So how did you do it? I'm clueless when it comes to any interaction between LDLite and LDAO. ;) (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  [ldraw.org] Update

I am pleased to announce that the registration of www.ldraw.org has been confirmed by InterNIC and should be operational worldwide by mid-afternoon 4.21.99 Central US Daylight Time. I have recieved compensation for the cost and will promptly pay (...) (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) Heck, yeah! I gotta have that shading, man! :-, I'm rendering at 100%, too. I tried 50% and 75% for a while, but I lost too much detail to be comfortable with it. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) What the heck ya got in there, man?? As of the latest update, mine is ~8 Mb, rendered in LDraw at 50%. Did you use LDLite to render the VEC? That's more than my entire LDraw directory! :) Jeff - Who can't believe anyone can actually get 79 Mb (...) (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Minifig torso subpart (was suggestion for roadplate like parts)

(...) OK, they're done. Besides drawing the non-patterned areas, I also moved the original pattern-commands to z=-10. Steve (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: [ldraw.org] L3P Question

(...) That makes sense. I will take a closer look at it. I have gotten into the habit of using LEdit coordinates as a reference for scene locations. Done right, it is a handy way of figuring out translation coordinates for various elements. -- Terry (...) (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

Hmmm. A 6.4 GB drive is $124 at Fry's today, for a cost of roughly $0.01 USD per 0.5 MB. If we assume this option saves 22 MB for each of the 500 LDLite users, the net savings to the entire world will amount to $220, which is probably worth an hour (...)
