What the heck ya got in there, man??  As of the latest update, mine is ~8 • Mb,
rendered in LDraw at 50%.  Did you use LDLite to render the VEC?

Heck, yeah!  I gotta have that shading, man!  :-,

So how did you do it?  I'm clueless when it comes to any interaction between
LDLite and LDAO.  ;)

(...) Go directly into LDLite, and make sure the Options -> Shading menu item is checked. This setting will be remembered, so the VEC images generated *should* have shading. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Heck, yeah! I gotta have that shading, man! :-, I'm rendering at 100%, too. I tried 50% and 75% for a while, but I lost too much detail to be comfortable with it. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
