I got a Mac mini yesterday, so I'm at the bottom of the learning curve on
getting LPub going there.  I know it is unix (which I know very well), but I did
not find make or the gcc tools (which I also know very well) using find.

You have to install the dev tools from the OS CD (DVD?) that came with your Mac.
They aren't installed by default (which is probably a wise choice on Apple's
part).

I'm antsy to get going there.  Any ideas on where to get started?

Once you've installed the dev tools, you'll have all the command line tools you
expect.  Having said that, qmake on QT for Mac actually generates an XCode
project by default instead of a makefile, and I'd recommend just going with
that.  I can send you the .pro file (input for qmake) that I created from the
source tree you sent me if you want (unless I already did).

(...) Hi Travis, Thanks for the help. I have a .pro from Orion. I have to update it, because the list of files has changed, but that should be straight forward. Thank you very much, Kevin (17 years ago, 24-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dev)
