  Re: Star Wars Elements

(...) Even better. Is it possible for one or more of the utilities to be able to associate 2 or more descriptive names with any given part? (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Star Wars Elements

(...) I guess that takes care of the percentage of people who want to use the two parts in this fairly limited SW way. But what about the other people who never really cared about the SW "use" of the elements - should they be forced to remember that (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Complete list of metacommands?

(...) Umm, *anything* is allowed at the moment, since these meta-statements aren't used anywhere. But I'd suggest new parts should use the first word of their descriptive name as the first entry for 0 CATEGORY. Or at least that the category entry (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Star Wars Elements

(...) I think it's highly unlikely that this new element won't show up in other places completely unrelated to SW and light sabres, and it probably will even show up in opaque colors. IMHO, calling this element a light sabre blade is like calling (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDlite "Black" not really Black...

(...) Yeah, basically me 2. I think I still have some images around with black-sided studs. I didn't remember about the transparent pieces. Steve (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Star Wars Elements

  Re: Complete list of metacommands?

What is LDS (sorry if I am being obtuse)? Also what is the exact behavior of INCLUDE? I assume the line will look like: 0 INCLUDE /include/file/path And if I remember correctly all the parts in the file are loaded into memory for use but not drawn. (...)   Re: Studs

Hi :-) I thought a bit about all this stud talk and reached a conclusion: is not worth the effort. I mean, nobody includes a touch sensor in it's model, in this case a transparent touch sensor, if does not intend to use it. And if you want to use (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDlite "Black" not really Black...

(...) I tried that already, and it looks kind of strange, especially for transparent parts. For some reason, it just doesn't seem to look like the real instructions (IMO). Maybe I'm just too used to the default LDraw look...especially because the (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Star Wars Elements

(...) Maybe this is one place where using a short-cut file would make sense. WE could place the actual file (XXXX.DAT) in the Bar category, and then name the SW version (which would just call the Bar file) XXXXA.DAT. --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Studs

(...) I guess I'm not a a standard user. :-) To me the objective should be to accurately represent the real world, not to copy the LEGO instructions. (...) My point of view also disagrees here. Studs of real transparent parts are hollow, at least in (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Default extensions

Is anyone else bugged by the DAT extension? Does anyone else use other extensions for various flavors of (near-)LDraw source files? I stick with DAT for vanilla LDraw files. For other files files, I've been using: LDL - LDLite extensions (especially (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Complete list of metacommands?

(...) These two comment meta-commands are not currently recognized by any programs, AFAIK. They are both part-file meta-commands, intended for use by part-search and part-catalog programs. CATEGORY specifies the part's category. I think all the (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
