Is anyone else bugged by the DAT extension? Does anyone else use other
extensions for various flavors of (near-)LDraw source files?
I stick with DAT for vanilla LDraw files. For other files files, I've been
using:
LDL - LDLite extensions (especially if I 'm going to eventually convert the
file to vanilla LDraw).
LDS - LDScript source.
I'd use LDR instead of DAT for vanilla LDraw files, but DAT is too
well-established as a default. Unfortunately, it's also very widely-used
as the extension for miscellaneous data files.

| (...) Yeah, I think it was an unfortunate choice to use DAT. It is way to common. LDR would have been a better choice. But I just live with it. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
