ldraw.org MOTM & SOTM Winner for October 2002

Kinda late, but here goes: Keving Dixon won both categories this month. A rare occurance, but well deserved. Both his model and scene were excellent. And of course the rendering quality is superior - almost looks photographic. I really need to check (...) (22 years ago, 5-Nov-02, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw) !

  Re: Cylinder Primitive conditional lines

(...) There was a discussion on this very topic about 6-8 months ago. Look here: (URL) here: (URL) can't remember what the final result was because the sphere primitives got involved. I thought the answer was to put *different* type 5 lines at the (...) (22 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Cylinder Primitive conditional lines

(...) I noticed the same for fraction cone primitives (1-4). I have created a simple Excel Spreadsheet to create cone primitives with any radius (outer = inner + 1). I have only uploaded some 4-4 cone primitives to the PT because I was unsure of the (...) (22 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Cylinder Primitive conditional lines

I noticed that some of the fraction cylinder primitives (1-8, 2-4, 3-4, 3-8) are missing a conditional line at one end. The 1-4 cylinder has type 5 lines at both ends. Is there any reason for the missing type 5 line? If so, why? Is there any reason (...) (22 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: BFC Ceritfied Parts Question

(...) Usually, but not always. (...) The key is that in BFC-land, the important part of the relation between the parent file and the subfile is whether or not the parent wants to invert the subfile. If the subfile has an obvious orientation (...) (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: BFC Utility Inconsistencies  [DAT]

  Re: BFC Utility Inconsistencies

I personally edited 3001.dat to be BFC compliant. I'd be interested if it's not done correctly. If you have a Parts libray as of at least this past spring, I would think you'd have the 3001.dat that I 'fixed'... Well I think it got approved around (...)   Re: BFC Utility Inconsistencies

Well, a lot of them. 3001.dat, box.dat ... They show invisible faces in BFCTool. Well, it's been a while since I've installed the original parts library that came with LDraw. Maybe some of the files have changed since then. I'll try that. Thanks, (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  BFC Ceritfied Parts Question

I've notice a few parts on the Parts Tracker that are BFC certified, but some of their component primitives are not. Can justifiably I certify these parts? If I can, why? What if the part is BFC certified and then later on the primitive is BFC (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
