Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Niels Bugge
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone is working on the two monorail ramp pieces? The 2677 (URL) and 2678 (URL) I'm going to need them shortly because the project I'm working on is rather big and bendy at the moment, and I'd really like to use MLCad as (...)      (...) If this is for designing the layout, you could try Track designer: (URL) Dean Earley, Dee (dean@earlsoft.co.uk) irc: irc://irc.blitzed.org/ web: (URL) +44 (0)780 8369596 (19 years ago, 30-Sep-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Bernd Broich
(...) Hello Niels, sorry but I think there is nobody who has made this part. An I, as the author of the other tracks, have no time for the next months to make them. Maybe there is somebody else who could create a Mock-up. CU Bernd (19 years ago, 1-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Darrell Urbien
Can't get to peeron right now (is it down?). If you can send me a jpg of the parts I can tell you if my students could make them for you. Darrell (19 years ago, 3-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Darrell Urbien
(...) Ahh, it's up for me now. From the pics the parts don't look too hard; I have no idea what the real parts look like so I don't know what's underneath.. Perhaps that's not important for your application though? What I would need is a detailed (...) (19 years ago, 3-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Niels Bugge
(...) It has a similar girder structure to the other monorail tracks: (URL) Only it's curved and very nasty. (...) Well, I'm actually using the part upside down because I like the industrial look of the girders... but for the building/recording (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Darrell Urbien
(...) Ooh. Well, that might be fun to model, in any case! (...) Do you have a scanner? If you do, you could scan it and send me the digital file - that would actually be better than an oblique photograph. I can then import the image file into (...)         Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Niels Bugge
(...) What an excellent idea! It has completely flat sides, so no problems there. What sort of resolution do you want? (I think I can go up to 1200x1200 dpi without crashing the computer) Regarding the underside structure, the sides are completely (...)         Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Darrell Urbien
(...) That might be overkill.. Though the higher the res the more accurate the measurement will be. Send me something smaller and I'll see how it looks. Also remember to include something in the scan that I can use for reference - I can't remember (...) (19 years ago, 19-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Niels Bugge
I did some scans in 100dpi yesterday, and am making a combined picture of each part with comments. I will be making a special scan for the curve in a higher reslolution afterwards. Cheers NB (19 years ago, 20-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Niels Bugge
Now the scans are finished, I thought that others might be interested to see them (at least when someone starts on the ldraw-version), so I've posted them in this BS folder earlier today: (URL) I've included some composite pictures with comments (...)         Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Darrell Urbien
Thanks for that, I'll see what my students can do. Couple of questions/comments: The info scans are great because they show how the parts go together, as well as the undersides.. Unfortunately they're not so good for measuring because the extra (...) (19 years ago, 21-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Niels Bugge
(...) I tilted the underside shots to show how the attachment points affect the framework, because it wouldn't be possible to see in a head on-shot (which would be pretty warped anyways). The distribution of the framework is excactly the same (...) (19 years ago, 24-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Darrell Urbien
(...) Well, we traced over them today and the two parts do not match each other (i.e. they have slightly different radii and are not complimentary/mirror images of one another). Maybe this is true, but I suspect it's just the angle of the part in (...) (19 years ago, 25-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Michael Heidemann
(...) Is there any DAT file that reflects the efforts doing these two pieces. Also a mockup will help me. cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 17-Sep-07, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks? —Bernd Broich
(...) Hi Mike, I begun the parts some months ago but hadn't enough time to go further with them. I will send you the parts by mail. CU Bernd (17 years ago, 22-Sep-07, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
