have fun!

Personaly I would use 4-4edge and 4-4disc primitives on the bottom of the
craters to save space. With a file this big you want to save as much space as
possible.

That won't really work.  The edge and disc primitives only have 16 sides,
which isn't really enough for circles that big.  Plus, he'd have to redo the
surrounding mesh to meet up with a 16-sided circle.

It looks great, Willy.  The only thing I can see that it's missing are the
optional (linetype 5) lines on the free-form surface, but unless you have
some way to automatically generate those, I don't think there is anything
that can be done about that.  They would also increase the file size by a
huge amount.  (Around double maybe?)

You could include an empty subpart file for the type 5 lines, just in
case someone wants to make them later.

Also, perhaps the hilly area itself should be made into a subpart.  That
might make it easier to add the crater studs and the painted studs
and flat area of the 6190 Shark's Crystal Cave version of this part.

Just trying to get the most out of this amazing part file...

(...) hmm ... the 6190 Shark's Crystal Cave version uses dithers colors which have to go into a subfile anyway. so we would have a sub-subfile. please consider also that most of the paint covers the flat area which has to be remodelled. it doesn't (...)
