Help needed with baseplate 30271 DAT file  [DAT]

Hi, I think I've just about completed the top surface of the DAT file for the 30271 baseplate (the one that comes in the castle set 6091/6098 and the amazon set 5986) but as I'm working only from the pictures on Peeron and Lugnet I need someone to (...)   Re: why re-submit x-4disc files?...

(...) deleted (...) Actualy I checked them 2 days later and it still doesn't say that a new version of the part was submitted. Maybe it's because they are fixed versions of official parts? (22 years ago, 11-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

New conditional lines in LDView 1.9.4

If you use the just-released LDView 1.9.4 during part authoring, you might want to pay attention to the following two new command line options: -ShowAllType5 -ShowType5ControlPoints Look in the the new command line section of LDView's help.html file (...)   Updated version of 4474  [DAT]

Hi all, I'm making the Windscreen with the Ice Planet pattern, and I found an error by the original part. The length of the upper plane was to small, so I corrected this. I copied the original orientation, so there shouldn't be any problems with the (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) OK, it's there. (URL) Steve (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Low res 1-8 sphere primitve

(...) I'm an idiot, but I think I understand now. The larger *sphe.dat files must simply include of a bunch of 1-8sphe.dat instances as type 1 lines. So yes, you only need the type 5 edge lines in the 1-8sphe.dat file if it's made right. Don (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re: why re-submit x-4disc files?...

(...) Either: a) You rechecked the details pages too soon, before the PT had a chance to clear the votes, or b) You rechecked too late, after Carsten and Franklin had re-reviewed the files. Steve (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Low res 1-8 sphere primitve

(...) He put in the type 5 lines at the joins between the eighth spheres in the n-8sphe files (where n > 1). So he put a set in the one join of the 2-8sphe.dat, 4 sets in the 4-8sphe.dat, and 12 sets in the 8-8sphe.dat. So instead of just being type (...)   Re: Low res 1-8 sphere primitve

(...) I'm not sure I understand why they'd be unnecessary for the larger versions. I thought the idea was that ALL these primitives would have type 5 lines at the edges, but they would be extended in the tangent plane and thus only do half the job, (...)   Re: why re-submit x-4disc files?...

(...) I added the comments like you suggested, but the old hold votes weren't deleted when I resubmitted the parts. (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Low res 1-8 sphere primitve

6002.dat (Was Re: high-res sphere primitive with type 5 lines)  [DAT]

(...) What's really, really fun is adding the new sphere to this part and spinning it around. Still needs a few type 5 lines around the notches on the bottom though... 0 FILE 6002.dat 0 part 6002 round Panel 6 x 6 x 9 with Spherous Top 0 by Mark (...)   Re: Low res 1-8 sphere primitve

(...) FWIW I also like the new one better. (...) I agree. The type 5 lines from the edges belong in the file. See here for my convoluted and poorly written reasoning. (URL) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Low res 1-8 sphere primitve

(...) I have two comments. The first is that while I prefer my sphere tesselation to the standard one (and presumably you do also :-), a number of people prefer the standard one. I think that a vote of some sort might be in order before replacing (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: high-res sphere primitive with type 5 lines

(...) Glad you like it. What's really fun is viewing a full sphere with the type 5 lines enabled, and then spinning it slowly. I had to do that a lot in order to verify that the lines were drawing correctly in LDView. Hopefully I'll have a release (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)
