He put in the type 5 lines at the joins between the eighth spheres in the
n-8sphe files (where n > 1). So he put a set in the one join of the
2-8sphe.dat, 4 sets in the 4-8sphe.dat, and 12 sets in the 8-8sphe.dat. So
instead of just being type 1 lines, they a few type 1 lines and a number of
type 5 lines. These are not necessary if the 1-8sphe.dat has the edge type 5's.

| (...) I'm an idiot, but I think I understand now. The larger *sphe.dat files must simply include of a bunch of 1-8sphe.dat instances as type 1 lines. So yes, you only need the type 5 edge lines in the 1-8sphe.dat file if it's made right. Don (23 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)
