I'm not sure I understand why they'd be unnecessary for the larger
versions. I thought the idea was that ALL these primitives would have
type 5 lines at the edges, but they would be extended in the tangent
plane and thus only do half the job, requiring BOTH primitives to have
them to complete the type 5 coverage at a seam.

| (...) He put in the type 5 lines at the joins between the eighth spheres in the n-8sphe files (where n > 1). So he put a set in the one join of the 2-8sphe.dat, 4 sets in the 4-8sphe.dat, and 12 sets in the 8-8sphe.dat. So instead of just being type (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)
