  Re: Creating 47457.dat 2x2x2/3 Sloped&Rounded

I personally round off the numbers to 4 decimals, but I’ve been known to do crazy stuff like modelling in 1/100 (max zoom in mlcad) and use 1-24 parts of high res primitives from time to time. But I would suggest you to round off to (at least) two (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) Thanks for doing this, Niels. Is changing the diameter of these axles from 8 to 7.5 really worth it? They still won't fit in most axleholes, because LDraw's axles don't fit the actual geometry of technic axleholes. However, I am *not* (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) I have measured several of these metal axles with a caliper from different kinds of wheels (studded train wheel with traction teeth, studded train wheel conical hub, spoked train wheel conical hub, spoked train wheel straight hub, studded (...)   Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) I'll measure the axles of all these kinds of wheels tonight. I have all different wheels with these axles. Niels (22 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) Not a big deal. As long as we're communicating, it's OK. :) (...) Please don't do that. If there are problems in files, then let's correct the errors (or come to agreement that they aren't actually errors). (...) Uh, what is x573? Is it used (...)   Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) Consistency with existing parts is good. (...) Sorry, my reviewing wasn't very complete. I should have asked for a repositioning of all of these files, so that the inside surface of the plastic wheel would be at the origin. This is an (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) Sorry about the lack of reply. I don't have most of these older wheels, so I'm not familiar enough with them to really comment on physical aspects. I can only answer from the POV of a parts librarian. (...) That's understandable. And I agree (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

(...) Hi All, Sorry if my english is not very well. I've create Wheel Axle Metal (x568s03.dat), because size of 35b.dat is not good. The corect size (diameter) for this part should be 6LDU and not 8LDU. For understand this size, see the my Technic (...) (22 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  New sticker: train 133  [DAT]

To finish a digital image of train 133 I have created the sticker. I do have the actual stickers, which I used as source. Here's a povray result: (URL) this image contains several unofficial parts) I don't have a partnumber. Any suggestions for the (...) (22 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Wheels with/without metal axle

Okay, I know it's a bad thing to reply to your own posts, but as I haven't got any answer and I do want this issue solved, I found it okay to kick this up again. Please read the first post in this topic. One more thing why I prefer to have the (...) (22 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

New parts: yellow drive rod and red holder  [DAT]

Last weekend I finished the red holder part for the old yellow steam train drive rod. In this first version I ommited the small gap near the centre stud hole. For the real part this gap is used to make the hole stretch a bit to fit the stud of a (...) (22 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) I mostly meant that I knew what their windings had to be (because of the way the edges are constructed), but the code isn't aware of it. However, like you say, it's easy enough to find an extreme point and test the winding. Steve (22 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) You lost me there. How could you not know which is which if they already go in the opposite direction? Just take a cross product at the topmost point. If it's negative, then it's clockwise and thus a hole. Don (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) OK. My edges already were counterclockwise. :) Umm, for inside outlines (inlines?) to be clockwise, that's 'clockwise' from a global view, right? If so, then my inlines are already clockwise. But I don't know which ones are inlines, and which (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools
