  Re: Moonbase Observatory

(...) moves (...) In theory the top of the sphere should rotate indeed with the telescope and all. (...) Thanks! I made the sphere using the sphere generator! That is a great tool. Jaco (24 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Observatory

(...) That is very very cool, I like it! I love it when people make stuff that moves on these modules. It makes for a good showpiece too :) The shape of the observatory itself is very nice. A good use of sculpture techniques there. Adrian -- (URL) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.space)

Re: Help needed with cond. lines  [DAT]

(...) hi travis, thx for your suggestion. the removed lines are clear to me. I added them in a desperate attempt to smooth the primitive - just to see if I could rid of the problem, but I do NOT understand the fix. I added my comments below: 0 (...)   To Jacob, Tony and Steve (was Duplo egg)

I went through some 1 year old messages... Jacob Sparre Andersen asked in message (URL) anybody considered modeling the Duplo Easter egg parts?" Then Tony Hafner aswered in (URL) could do cheesy mockups in LDraw along with good POV versions of them, (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Duplo egg

Hi all, I do not know for sure if this was asked before, but has the Duplo egg part been made? Or some mock-up? Jaco (24 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Moonbase Observatory

(...) nice- (...) Thanks! (...) Pitty. But understandable. The .space newsgroup is one the most busy ones and I suppose if you are not into this moonbase stuff, you do not read it. Many people do read, but do not comment. But that is OK with me! (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Observatory

Ooh, very VERY cool. I love the shape and the windows you used. Very nice- a cool distinctive part of a moonbase. Less war, more science! :) (...) You'd be suprised. I've seen models equally good that have gotton no feedback at all. -JHK (24 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.space)

  Re: Moonbase Observatory

(...) Wow, two hours have passed and no one else commented on this yet? Well I think it is a great model. Actually when I read the subject of the post I immediately began running through ideas of how I might build a deep space telescope into a (...)   Re: More Moonbase Madness ...

These are all very cool and well thought of! I am absolutely stunned about the Pyramid thing (URL) you should use straight regular bricks though to give it a more Egyptian kind of look! I am also trying some more moonbase stuff after the (...) (24 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  PT File Checker Down

To whom it may concern: The File Check tool on Parts Tracker seems to be broken. When I hit the submit button, the tool resets itself (clears the file textbox and resets the part type to Parts).   Re: Darth Vader Helmet on Parts tracker

Re: Darth Vader Helmet on Parts tracker

(...) I'm not in any rush to do so. I'm still gaining experience from doing more symmetrical parts. I can see that the Stormtrooper's helmet could take as long or longer than Vader's helmet. The Rebel helmet could be done in a much shorter time: (...) (24 years ago, 31-Mar-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: possible rendering problem with LDLite and transparent parts

(...) Ok, but I just tested flat.dat with ldlite 2.3 and your command line: ldlite.exe -W2 -MS -S3.0 -C15 -A0.707104,0,0.70710...-0.650895, 0.390731,0.650895 -D1 -U02500,02500 -I-4 -K flat.dat It worked just fine on Win2K with only 192MB.   Re: possible rendering problem with LDLite and transparent parts

(...) I am viewing them at full scale. It's related to the size of the work area, I'm pretty sure, rather than the resolution they're viewed at. 4000x4000 is a pretty good sized chunk of memory, I expect. Gyug sent me a note, he's looking into it. (24 years ago, 31-Mar-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: possible rendering problem with LDLite and transparent parts

(...) How are you viewing the resulting image files? Have you looked at them at full scale? Your problem may be aliasing in the resampling of the images when viewed at reduced scale, and not a problem in ldlite. Check with Jacob for tips on how to (...)
