My understanding (partly what I've heard, partly what I've guessed) • has

generating new views of parts from their CAD database?

I don't know where you heard about the 2D library but it's wrong, they
use a 3D CAD program.

Some of the errors in past instructions simply could not have been created
by a 3D CAD program, unless there was post-process "2D" cutting and
pasting going on.  I wish I could remember a good example; maybe someone
else remembers.
