The files are converted from the LDraw format because of speed issues
(LeoCAD is several times faster than any other LDraw program) and James
asked me not to redistribute the original files in .dat format. You do
have to spend some extra space on the HD but the speed increase makes it
worth and there are no problems converting files back to the .dat
format.
