Dear all,

as a novice to the idea of CAD, does anyone have advice about software to use
to design models on computer prior to building them.
I am thinking mostly of castles, and my attempts with Lego Creator have been
very clunky and timeconsuming

I must blow my own horn a little here:

BlockCAD is very easy to use, and very fast to build with too. What other
drawing program can handle a model with thousands of pieces, and still move?

LeoCAD?..:-)

(Today I got a model from a user, a castle of 6660 pieces, which he had
finished in the first three days of BlockCAD use! Pictures will have to
wait...)

You can see some examples in the Gallery (a couple of castles there, more to
come...):

There are limitations though, studs up, only 90 degree rotations, and a
limited assortment of pieces.

Not in LeoCAD?..:-)

But the best thing is: when BlockCAD is not enough, you can save your model in
LDRAW format, and do the final touches with MLCAD (or LEDIT, LDAO, Wordpad, or
anything...).

As in LeoCAD?..:-)

Anyway... I'm just expressing my personal choice..:-) I appreciate all
of you CAD programmers..:-)

Selçuk
