I would suggest MLCad for building your models (if you are using Windows) and
L3P and PovRay to convert and render them if you want. PovRay is free from:
www.povray.org
If you are interested in building/rendering castles take a look at:

I made it using the above programs.

| Dear all, as a novice to the idea of CAD, does anyone have advice about software to use to design models on computer prior to building them. I am thinking mostly of castles, and my attempts with Lego Creator have been very clunky and timeconsuming (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)
