Re: LPub 4 on Vista? was Re: I had to get something out...

(...) Thanks Travis, I'll give it a try once that link works again. Tim (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: LPub 4 on Vista? was Re: I had to get something out...

(...) I just noticed a problem when using LDView as LPub's renderer. LPub (alpha 3) isn't using the -SaveActualSize=0 command line option, so if you don't have the "Save image with specific size" check box checked in LDView's Save Snapshot dialog, (...)   Re: LPub 4 on Vista? was Re: I had to get something out...

(...) I just got a new machine with Vista Home Premium 32-bit on it, and the LPub posted in (URL) this post> works fine on it with LDView 3.2 (aside from the minor problems I posted about). --Travis (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: I had to get something out before Brickworld

--snip-- (...) Ironically I've met some mathematicians who worked with TLG on this problem about five years ago. Their conclusion of "it can't be done" seems to be holding out still. I'll stick to LPub and (now less) elbow grease. Tim (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

LPub 4 on Vista? was Re: I had to get something out...

--heavy snipping-- (...) Hi Kevin, I really, really can't wait to try this and just did up some new instructions for an old MOC as a first test for it. But... I'm a forced Vista user (thanks HP) so I need to be sure it's going to work and not ruin my (...) (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub4 Alpha3 available

(...) Hi Ronald, I used the Configuration->Callout Setup dialog and was able to stop Callouts from having PLis. Did you try it this way, or did you type it in manually? Kevin (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: I had to get something out before Brickworld

(...) I've gotta say that from the demo, this is amazing. I don't see the Mac version out there and didn't think to ask you for it whilst hanging this weekend. Can you email it or post it? I'd love to try it out on one of my old models, you know, (...) (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub4 Alpha3 available

(...) Hi Jaco, In case I forgot to mention it, LPub 4 only currently handles DPI. According to the page sizes that Qt supports, A4 is approximately 8.5 and 11.0. The page sizes you used are in centimeters? LPub performs a best fit match of the (...) (18 years ago, 25-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: I had to get something out before Brickworld

(...) Originally, the building instruction team had a huge building with a table for each step with the parts for that step assembled on the table. They photographed the assembly, and then "cartoonized" the picture. It was a huge process. I don't (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: I had to get something out before Brickworld

(...) We were told that the building instruction group uses Mayas and that there is a big gap between the LDD group and the BI group. Thanks, Kevin (18 years ago, 24-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: I had to get something out before Brickworld

I missed your presentation this weekend, but it sounded interesting. A friend of mine who lives in Chicago came to BrickWorld that day and we went to lunch, which was when you had your sessions. I too have wondered how LEGO made its instructions in (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: I had to get something out before Brickworld

(...) I demo-ed LPub 4 for about an hour and a half at Brickworld. I feel the process went very well. There were lots of great questions and suggestions. Paul Smith Meyer, of LEGO, was present for much of the demonstration. I've always been curious (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad) !

Re: 50 x 50 baseplate with the 'Road 3-way Curve with Gray Pattern'

  Re: LPub4 Alpha3 available

(...) Hello Kevin. This version still seems to depend on MSVCR90.dll which isn't included in the setup. The failure message is: ---...--- C:\Program Files\LPub\lpub.exe ---...--- C:\Program Files\LPub\lpub.exe This application has failed to start (...) (18 years ago, 21-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub4 Alpha3 available

(...) Hi Ronald, Thanks for trying the new LPub. Which method did you use for changing scale? The application menu has a Configure menu. The Assembly sub-menu has a Scale control that sets the scale before the first step, which means it applies to (...) (18 years ago, 21-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad)
