| | I'd like to have a few LEGO bricks 3D printed at SIGGRAPH this year. I have a contact who is willing to print up the bricks for me using a StrataSys machine [1]. Can someone please create and send me an ASCII STL file of a 2x4 brick? Also, any other (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.events, FTX)

| | | | (...) Cool. (...) Hmm.. tricky. I know the machines we have in our model shop at work could handle those, not sure about the StratsSys machine though. (...) I can get you stl files, no problem. Feel free to email me a grocery list of parts you would (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.events, FTX)

| | | | | | (...) Jason.. Are you the Architect who did the lecture on LEGO detailing at the last BricksWest? If you are, Hi, and if you aren't, well... Hi anyway. Having spent the last week making Rapid Prototypes, I'm curious about the type of machine you (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.events, FTX)

| | | | | | | (...) Nope, that wasn't me. I'm a drafter (1). I haven't been to any brick cons yet, although I'm 95% sure I'll be at Brickfest in two weeks. But.. Hi yourself. (...) We have 2 FDM machines and 2 SLS ones. I'd have to go down there to get model (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

|
| | | | | (...) Dear Jason, I am also interested in getting an stl file of a 2x4 brick as well as a 4x4 plate. What I would really like is to create a 6"x6" or 12"x12" base plate out of 1/4" acrylic plexiglass (or hardrock maple) for a project I have in mind. (...) I wish I would've thought about that sooner; I already have one done in (URL) AutoCAD solids> and it would've been easy to convert that to STL. Oh well. Is Tim (...) Hi Tim, Since I just spent a week doing this, let me throw in a few caveats: If you're talking about going from DAT to reality using an RP machine, you're going to have to tweak some of the dimensions. As you know, DAT dimensions are not the (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.events, FTX)
