    NEW ANIMATION —Steve Krass
Just put up a new animation. Check it out. (URL) Steve (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX) !!

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Jordan Bradford
(...) That's really good. I like how the suspension works as it lands. How long did it take to render it? -Jordan Bradford (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Wow. Did you have to calculate the trajectory of the wheels separately to get the suspension unload/load effect, then, or what? I can't imagine you actually modeled the kinematics, did you? Tres nifty, thanks for sharing. Spotlighted. (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Dave Schuler
(...) Very very cool! I especially like the way the front shocks compress to engage the ramp. Nice touch! Dave! (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Eric Sophie
Oh wow! That is brilliant! LIKE IT LIKE IT LIKE IT! e (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Nathanael Kuipers
What can I say Steve??! It's fantastic as always!!! The suspension is perfect... Is this an animation of a LEGO car!!!?? It's hard to believe. Keep going Steve! Nathanael (Btw did I send you the final CAD version of the GT?) (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Steve Krass
(...) I have it But I am waiting for the latest creation. That thing looks even cooler lot of functions. I especially like the side scoops. Steve (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Tim Courtney
(...) Oh COOL! Lots of complex motion there with the shocks and the freefall. I'm sure the math would make my head spin ;-) Keep up the good work! -Tim (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Mark Williams
(...) Thats amazing... Not much else to say... -Mark W. (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Miguel Agullo
Hi Steve, That's very good stuff. Keep it up. Cheers (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Ronald Vallenduuk
(...) Hi Steve, Just had a look at some of your animations. Some nice stuff in there. I've just started my own experiments in animating LDraw stuff. Can you tell me more about how you create animations in PovRay? So far I've created separate scenes (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Miguel Agullo
(...) Hi, Here is a good starting point (URL) (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Steve Krass
(...) using ldraw. Just keep learning little by little. I used splines for this animation. Lots of trial and error. There are four splines used. front shocks, rear shocks, front height, and rear height(which also moves truck across screen). thanks (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Jason Tiller
(...) I went to the site above and found it confusing. I don't have time to learn the code, so is there an easier way to do animation??? (20 years ago, 9-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Jordan Bradford
(...) Not really. But if you look closely, you'll see that anything that's animated has the word "clock" in its code. In a separate .ini file you specify how many frames you want and POV-Ray automatically creates that many clock cycles and renders (...) (20 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Andrea Grazi
(...) Hi Steve, I see always your animations, I would want to know to make also! Do you would try to animate the suspension devised from me? See here please: (URL) What do you say? It's possible? Thanks (sorry for my english) Andrea G. (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Steve Krass
(...) Have seen this. Awesome model (long time monster truck fan). Anything can be done. May just take a look at it. Steve (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Martin Humel
Nothing to add. :D I tried the same some weeks ago, but i had to stop because my final exams at school come closer day by day and the flow of work doesn't stop. Now it seems that the animation of suspensions and gears has got its final edge, or is (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Miguel Agullo
(...) Hi It depends what you are referring to. If you are completely new to computer animation, IMHO your best shot is to download Wax and have a bit of fun with it. (URL) can even import Ldraw stuff via the .3DS format (probably LDR -> DXF -> 3DS) (...) (20 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Jason Tiller
(...) Thanks, So what your saying is use "Wax" if your a new to animation like me? Also about that program you are writing, I would like a to try it (When it hits the streets). :-D Thanks again, Jason Tiller (20 years ago, 12-May-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Miguel Agullo
(...) Yes. This might sound a bit controversial, because a) Wax is new and unknown and b) because it is really more of a video composer than a 3D program. But my guess is that it will allow you to burn through the first stages in computer animation (...) (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

         Re: NEW ANIMATION —Jason Tiller
Thank you so much. Jason (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Steve Krass
Added a different point of view. Check it out. (URL) Steve (20 years ago, 11-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Maico Arts
Hello steve "Steve Krass" <skrass@hillengr.com> schreef in bericht news:HxKKKn.1uwz@lugnet.com... (...) This animation look cool too. I have a new chalange for you: Make the wheels turn... Or is that too much? ( I am not in to rendering...) (...) (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Steve Krass
(...) The wheels are programmed to turn as the truck moves across the screen. However the frame rate matches the rotation of the spokes pretty well. (URL) I am looking for a way to do motion blur which will also help fix this porblem I hope. Steve (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

Motion Blur (Was: NEW ANIMATION) —Tore Eriksson
(...) Me too. I have thought of making a really nasty cheat by emulating motion-blur using trans-coloured parts that in the models directory. I have'nt had time to develop this idea so far, though... /Tore (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

Re: Motion Blur (Was: NEW ANIMATION) —Steve Krass
     (...) Interesting will try a test or two. Steve (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)

        Re: NEW ANIMATION —Maico Arts
Hello Steve (...) However (...) porblem I (...) How about increasing or decreasing the rotation speed of the wheels, or would that conflict too much with the distance traveled by the wheels? Is increasing or decreasing the framerate an option? (...) (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic)
