I am excited about this new software. I downloaded it and tried it out.

The only problem I had was the bitmap versions of the parts inventory on the right of the screen did not render properly. At least that is what I think they were. When I clicked on them, they selected parts I could build with, but I couldn’t tell what the menu icons were. They were just random noise.

Hi Chuck,

The problem with corrupt or missing thumbnails is a known issue on GeForce2GTS and GeForce256 cards, and possibly some others. It will be fixed in the final release but here’s a workround in the meantime:

Edit C:\Program Files\LEGO Software\LEGO Digital Designer\lego.conf and set :

Depth=16

(instead of the default 32)

If you’re running Windows 98 or Me delete this folder: C:\WINDOWS\Local Settings\Application Data\Qubesoft

If you’re running 2000 or XP delete this folder: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\QubeSoft

And that should fixup the thumbnails on the next run of LDD.
