  Re: POV Coordinate Question

(...) I usually use L3P to create the file, but then I replace the camera with a definition from LDView. If I can just change the sign, that will be easy. Eric (16 years ago, 17-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: POV Coordinate Question

(...) What is your camera definition? In BlockCAD I use L3P to create the POV file, and then I do some post-processing of that file (I don't actually remmeber right now what I'm changing), and those renders are not mirrored. The camera definition in (...) (16 years ago, 17-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad)

  POV Coordinate Question

While doing renderings, I've noticed something odd. POV-Ray mirrors all the models across the XY axis. For instance, look at this image of (URL) 853>. It appears to be right hand drive, but the model I made it from is left hand drive. This isn't (...) (16 years ago, 17-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Seasonal Community Spirit

Maybe the time of year has something to do with it, but I must confess to have been moved by the generosity of a few talented builders lately. Seperately, we’ve seen (URL) Eric Sophie>, (URL) Tim Gould> and (URL) Mark Neumann> sharing not only their (...)   Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) Ahhh I found them. The original loco and the last two. I must have accidentally switched LPub across to a different setting before doing (and redoing in the case of the loco) the instructions. Newer versions will be uploaded. Tim (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) So do I but going back to the original issue which instructions are using the black edgelines? Tim (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) I agree fully with Philo's thoughts about the "Always black" edgelines. cu mikeheide (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) I always considered that "Always black" was unusable since dark colors were illegible. So for me the answer is yes. I would be tempted to push the threshold further: even if there is enough contrast on screen, it could be insufficient in (...) (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) I agree that dark gray would have worked better for these edge lines. I can easily change "always back" in LDView to be "usually black". I played around with the settings a bit, and with r * 30 + g * 59 + b * 11 <= 3600 as my threshold for (...) (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: 3D matrix math question

(...) Maybe I'll just automatically disable the scaling when "Show control points" is turned on. I'll definitely disable the scaling when "Show all" is turned on. (...) Having the control lines be a different color won't necessarily help when they (...) (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) See the difference between your instructions and those I created from the MPD: (URL) guess is that your LDView lpub setup has edge lines set to "always black" Philo (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

(...) Thanks! Strange. The edgelines show up very clearly on my system. I'm curious how other people find them? They're set to something similar to dark grey. Tim (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Western Train with instructions

Hi Tim, Wonderful models and instructions! (no I'm not turning train ;o)... But I find the edgelines of black parts much too dark, making these parts illegible. What setup did you use? Philo (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: 3D matrix math question

(...) Actually the switch turning off condline controls scaling could be a sub-option of "Show control points" and be active only in this case. BTW, could it be possible to show control lines in another color to distinguish them from conditional (...) (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: 3D matrix math question

(...) This is true, and I actually try to work this way, but if you look up the thread to ((URL) here>), you'll see that this bug led to a problem that would be visible in real-world parts if the suggested conditional edge primitive is created. And (...) (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: 3D matrix math question

(...) Fixing this one group of rarely important special cases in an efficient manner is probably not the most valuable use of your time. You could always offer 'condition point compression' as a user-selectable option. Tim (16 years ago, 16-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: LETGUI new version 0.1.0.18

(...) Philo just informed me that both versions that I have packed into the setup are the old versions. So I compliled it again with the current (above mentioned) versions of that tools. I am sorry for any trouble this may have caused on your side. (...) (16 years ago, 15-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: 3D matrix math question

(...) OK, I applied this fix (pulling the control points to be 1 LDU from the first point of the conditional line), and it seems to work. It makes the "Show control points" option under conditional lines less useful, but that's a price I'm willing (...) (16 years ago, 14-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: 3D matrix math question

(...) Well, I know where the camera is, and I can create vectors from the camera to both end-points of the conditional line, and to both control points. I'm pretty sure that the calculation could be done with just this information. However, I'm not (...) (16 years ago, 14-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dev)
