  TCLTC Layouts Rendered in Sketch-up

I'm not sure how or why, but one day Ross started fiddling around with (URL) SketchUp> and suddenly he's rendering all of the iterations of the TLCTC layout. Apparently you can stretch pics across the 3D blank spaces, and you can get some cool (...)   Re: Any Interest in a Program for Creating/Editing Parts?

(...) In LDraw, everything in the "P" directory is called a primitive. Many of them actually are geometric primitives, such as cylinder pieces and disc pieces. Others aren't, such as the stud primitives. But they're all referred to as primitives. (...) (18 years ago, 4-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Still Missing primitives

Hello, After installing ldraw027.exe and the complete library update, I am still missing primitives! What Am I Doing Wrong?? Michael (18 years ago, 3-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Any Interest in a Program for Creating/Editing Parts?

(...) Ok, thanks. When I think of primitives, I usually think of the lowest-level elements of the underlying graphics package. In this case, Line, Triangle, Quadrilateral, and Conditional Line. I thought things like Cylinder, Box, etc., being built (...) (18 years ago, 3-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Any Interest in a Program for Creating/Editing Parts?

(...) When you say "primitives", do you really mean "sub-parts?" (Or do I have it backwards?) To be clear, I would plan to fully support the use of sub-parts, as well as the ability to copy/paste portions of pre-existing part definitions. This (...) (18 years ago, 3-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

RE: Any Interest in a Program for Creating/Editing Parts?

If the program isn't capable of using primitives, any generated parts are bound to get "Hold - use more primitives" votes/comments when/if they are submitted to the Parts Tracker. So, without support for primitives, which MLCad and other editing (...) (18 years ago, 3-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Any Interest in a Program for Creating/Editing Parts?

I had in the past tried my hand (somewhat unsuccessfully) at creating some new LDraw parts. I found the tutorials on ldraw.org to be helpful, but I was surprised at how "manual" the process seems to be. (Edit the file in Notepad? Seriously??) Being (...)   Re: // Empty model errors in POV-Ray

Re: Missing primitives after part update.

(...) Hello again, No, I had not installed ldraw027.exe. My version of Ldraw came from a CD, along with other tools like MLCAD and POV-Ray. I have tried the part update on two separate computers, with the same Missing Primitives result. I will try (...) (18 years ago, 1-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Missing primitives after part update.

(...) Did you install ldraw027.exe? Not having done that seems to me to be the most likely cause of your problem. You have to install ldraw027 prior to installing any updates (including the complete update). This should change once the library gets (...)   Re: Missing primitives after part update.

(...) Hi Michael, It is pretty hard for us to diagnose this without a lot of details of mising files. Before we go down that road, I would recommend you try again, or start over with empty ldraw/parts ldraw/parts/s and ldraw/p folders (directories). (...)   Missing primitives after part update.

Hello, This is my first post, so please bear with me if I screw up. I have downloaded the Ldraw part updates, and installed them according to the instructions posted at the update site. My problem is that, every time I opened a parts folder in (...) (18 years ago, 30-Nov-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re:SketchUp: x93 Monkey Wrench

(...) I've been looking for a part to try my SketchUp to LDraw exporter, so I made this model. It's more a generic pipe wrench than actually based on the real part. Not sure what to scale it to, either. Maybe you can tweak it. SketchUp model : (URL) (...) (18 years ago, 29-Nov-06, to lugnet.cad)
