Re: Things that are hard to do with LDraw and building instructions

(...) Yeah, in his first post Kevin said you could use Buffer Exchange and Ghost to acheive the effect, but it's not easy. This might be because those commands work on a series of images, but he's more comfortable thinking in terms of manipulating (...) (20 years ago, 11-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: The Minifig Macro - walk that minifig

(...) Anton's Library is similar to LDraw, but made for POV-Ray only. The main differences: - Anton's parts are objects with "insides" rather than polygons (LDraw is exclusively polygons--and because of broke BFC winding, "inside" is wrong on about (...)   Re: LDraw.org's January Model and Scene of the Month Winners

(...) Sorry, I didn't have time to make/update the applicable pages but I thought it would be best if I least started the poll since it was so late in the month. I should have this rectified by the weekend. -Orion (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Re: LDraw.org's January Model and Scene of the Month Winners

(...) Yeah, I noticed that too. I wanted to go back and examine the pics for the small model. Can't remember what it was now, but there was something odd about the way the studs rendered. There was either a lot of z-bleeding, or else it just ripped (...) (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

So, I went and voted for next month, and then wanted to look at some again, so I went to the Contests page here: (URL) Unfortunately, it appears that that page is out of date. The archive of past winners doesn't have any 2005 entries, and the (...) (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Very very nice models. (...) Not hard. I wrote these instructions a few years ago. They are really bad instructions (I know alot more about POV-Ray now...) (URL) you *really* want to do it, I could help. Some of my QTVR's (very old) (URL) (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Things that are hard to do with LDraw and building instructions

Re: Things that are hard to do with LDraw and building instructions

(...) I suppose you could use the mlcad GROUP meta-command to name your parts. Then perhaps you could invent a SUBSTITUTE meta-command to substitute one group for another? I don't know, it could work. Enjoy, Don (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: If I were a minifig...... ( bed & bath )

Very nice! But I dunno - you might need longer ceiling fan blades to circulate the air in that large of a room. :-) I'd love to be able to see this kind of thing in a Quicktime VR file. Wonder how hard that is... James Wilson Dallas, TX (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, FTX)

Things that are hard to do with LDraw and building instructions

Re: Comments wanted: Plans for easier parts authoring

I have now given Blender a good test, and I am hooked. The user interface is a bit weird at first, but it grows on you, and I expect it to be quite easy to use once I get the hang of it.
