  Work for Bricks?

Hello, I am searching for skilled part author/s that would be willing to create requested parts. I am offering payment in Lego. There are some specific parts needed for creation of custom instuctions. Anyone interested please email me directly. (...) (20 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: PT Rendered Images ... updated when?

(...) OK, thought I had it figured out. But the superfile's image still isn't being regened. I'll have to play with this some more, tonight. Steve (20 years ago, 3-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: My 3D Animation Diary (Was: The Minifig Macro)

Your computer is just fine to handle the POV-Raying. I made many animations on my old PII400. What got me going was this here animation tutorial: (URL) didn't actually use the "ClockMod" tools described here, though. But I found the tutorials useful (...)   Re: PT Rendered Images ... updated when?

(...) (re)submitted. I'll see if I can easily tweak the code to regen images for superfiles as well. Shouldn't be too hard. Steve (20 years ago, 3-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

PT Rendered Images ... updated when?

When are the PT rendered images updated? Only when they are submitted or also when any sub-parts they contain are submitted? Reason I ask is that I re-sumitted a sub-part today to correct a problem (I'd left some quads in the colours I'd used during (...) (20 years ago, 3-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New WIP mini - The Bee

(...) Nice work M, I think the decision to ditch the top turret was a good call. The new color scheme is great, and so is the swarm pic. So what is next? Some kind of hive-carrer for them? -Keith (20 years ago, 3-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.cad, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: LEGO Factory updates and insight

(...) I agree with this suggestion completely. I was hoping that the new version of LDD that came with the Brickmaster's first package would be a functional program. Unfortunately it was not. (20 years ago, 3-Mar-05, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.cad)

Re: My 3D Animation Diary (Was: The Minifig Macro)

Tore, Sorry. Things shouldn't be that difficult. I suppose I could have made the Couriership demo easier (I'll have to fix the 404). Anyway, the minifig should be alot easier, because everything except Anton's Library and POV-Ray is included. Easy (...) (20 years ago, 3-Mar-05, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: New WIP mini - The Bee

(...) Thanks for the comments! I've made some other versions: (URL) It is my favorite: (URL) Jeff : Actually it is a gunship or something with a pilot and a gunner behind him, in mini scale. Matthias : I created the original model within 2 hours (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.cad, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: If I were a minifig......

Awesome! Very inspiring! Not to be a downer, but after the rec room (and highly important kitchen) I'd love to see a quiet study/lego room : ) God Bless and thanks for sharing, Nathan (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, FTX)

My 3D Animation Diary (Was: The Minifig Macro)

DAY 1, 20:00 Posted the following question to Lugnet. "I have POV-Ray 3.1 and 3.5, ML-Cad, L3Lab, L3P, L3PAO, and of course the LDraw package on a PC with AMD1100, 256 Mb RAM and a very old video adapter. What more do I need to make animations like (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.animation)

Re: The Minifig Macro - walk that minifig

(...) Two questions: * What exactly is Anton Raves' library? * I have POV-Ray 3,1 and 3.5, ML-Cad, L3Lab, L3P, L3PAO, and of course the LDraw package on a PC with AMD1100, 256 Mb RAM and a very old video adapter. What more do I need to make (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.animation)

  Re: Gimme-five, actually 10

(...) What software did you use to create the numbers? (Just curious, I'm currently doing some work with conversion back and forth between LDR and other 3D file formats.) Stefan (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) Thanks! I'll leave that article up indefinitely, in case the subject comes up again. (Funny how my work always comes into my Lego hobby. Or is it the other way around? I can never tell. I guess I'm just a Lego person.) Stefan (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) I agree but Stefan gave a compelling argument for 1 LDU = 4 mm so I changed the draft proposal. -Orion (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) No, Orion is correct -- for LDraw. By definition, LDraw parts have no gap. 1-stud-wide bricks are 20 LDU - exactly. We *really* don't want to get into a game of trying model real-world dimensions in great detail. That it, unless someone can (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) I beg to differ. The width of a 1x1 brick is not the same as the spacing between two stud centres. Bricks have a small gap between them, whereas studs are very accurately placed on any brick with more than 1 stud. The LDU unit should be (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) Well, yes, and no. The bricks are not nearly as precise as the molds, but the dimensional tolerances for parts must certainly be a lot tighter than the difference between 1/64" and 0.4 mm. That difference is almost a full percent, so there is (...) (20 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Internationalization of the part library?

(...) They're just modified plate & brick: 6072 Plate 7 x 7 with cutouts and castle crenelations 6066 Brick 4 x 8 x 2 & 1/3 with cutouts and castle crenalations -John Van (20 years ago, 1-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Collinear vertices warning on very small triangels
