Re: MOTM / SOTM Voting For December Is Now Open

(...) You have to give the system some time for your newly registered account to be filtered throughout all the site's modules. Log out, wait 30 minutes, log in, and try again. You should now be able to vote. -Orion (21 years ago, 7-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Color include file in the next parts update.

(...) So, will it support the color of this piece :-)? (URL) Yes, that is the actual color of the piece. No, it wasn't painted. Yes, it was made by Lego. Yes, there are swirls in the plastic, which has at least two component colors (it's more (...) (21 years ago, 7-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: * LDraw Design Pad LDDP 1.52 released *

Have a couple of suggestions though (only little ones!): The readme.txt file still has info on installation, that still talks about un-zipping a ZIP file - I think this section (...)   Re: Color include file in the next parts update.

(...) Sounds good. Is this happening on a mailing list with archives so those of us not in the loop can monitor the progress? (URL) need some distractions so I don't end up .debate with Larry. :^) Don (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Color include file in the next parts update.

(...) The LSC is currently working on formalizing the format of ldconfig. I don't think we'll be ready in time for the upcoming update. Look for it in the the 2004-1 update. -Orion (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

Color include file in the next parts update.

Since there's apparently a new parts update in the pipeline, I was wondering if there's going to be any changes to the ldconfig.ldr file to handle the "new and improved" megablock compatible colors. Also, should we make an attempt to agree on a (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Question: polygons filling a t-shape

(...) Actually, with LDraw code, reducing triangle pairs to quads reduces that section of code by 35% (more-or-less). If you've got a lot of surfaces, that's not an insignificant savings of bytes. Steve (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Question: polygons filling a t-shape

(...) Thanks for pointing this out -- I've been bugged for awhile about the "colinear quads are bad just because L3P says they're bad" situation, here's a very good reason to not use them. Steve (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Lightbricks (x265/x266/x267)

(...) "Absolutely" is an exaggeration. There's a very simple need to put the frame and the glass in separate files: so modelers can change the colors of both. Then there's a simple reason to make a combined file: because, as you said, that's the (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

  LDRAW updates

Hi all ! Will there be till the end of the year one more Ldraw parts update ? The last once is from August. Any chance ? Thanks. Mike (21 years ago, 4-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Question: polygons filling a t-shape

(...) Yes, L3P detects and warns about the collinear points of the quad. In the case of splitting the T why don't you just use triangles? The renderers do that anyway, but then you can take control of the splitting. I believe quads are mainly a (...) (21 years ago, 4-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad)
