  Bugs with the Parts Tracker

[emphasis Franklin's] (...) Here's a good example of why the current nomenclature is messed up (in my humble, yet aggressively vociferous, opinion). (URL) new file does not -- repeat ***NOT*** -- need any unofficial parts, and yet it says (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Legacy Files on the Parts Tracker

(...) There may be merit in somehow boosting the position of the subfiles themselves in the list (if it's true that people only work on the highest listed items and ignore the bottom stuff... I know it's true for me). Perhaps the more parts use an (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Legacy Files on the Parts Tracker

(...) FWIW, I agree with this. Though I am a parts reviewer, I don't have a terribly extensive collection of pieces to compare the LDraw ones with. And the Real World doesn't leave much time to review parts! --Ryan (explaining his credentials to (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: LDraw to RenderMan conversion

(...) Try here: (URL) Google great?) -Orion (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: LDraw to RenderMan conversion

(...) - I tried to contact webmaster, but received just "Delivery Status Notification (Failure) - user unknown" message. It looks like the site is abandoned :( sorry.. Rob (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Question about LPub PLIs

(...) <snip> Yes, I'm using POV-Ray 3.1 with MegaPOV 0.7. -Joel P.S. Thanks for your very quick responses to my posts! (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Question about LPub PLIs

(...) I would have thought that the <0,2.55207,-51858.9> was the camera distance, but taking the square root of the squares of these numbers is less than 75000, so I would have expected it to be 75000. Are you using mega-pov? Someone reported that (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Introducing JetRed

(...) No, I'd just have a lot of LEGO ;-) -Tim xfut -> .o-t.fun (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Question about LPub PLIs

(...) Ok, I've saved the first POV file that was generated. Here is the camera section of the code; I had specified a minimum distance of 75000: // Camera (Latitude,Longitude,Radius = 0,0,0) camera { #declare PCT = 0; // Percentage further away (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Introducing JetRed

(...) I totally agree with Tim. Either i do not value recognition then critics and no reply are not a problem. Or i value recognition, then obviously if it has a value it also has a cost. When facing the same problem as you i made my choice (i do (...) (21 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Introducing JetRed

(...) And some people around here put too high of a value on written praise. Or, they flip out when a response isn't 100% positive. Instead of gaining recognition by persisting, they whine and stink about it, turning people off to them. .02 -Tim (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Introducing JetRed

You're not alone in this Gregory, I had also in the past posted pics of my MOC's, only to have the snub-nosed critic shout me down too. I eventually got out of 9V trains, not only was it a drain on the pocketbook...but some of the people around here (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Detail on curved surfaces?

(...) Hi Lars: Thanks for the answer. I hadn't checked in a while and didn't see that anyone had responded, but I appreciate your input. Following your pointer a few months ago, I read through the povray newsgroups about the hi-res Formula-1 (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Once again, a relativley major bug...

(...) Snip (...) I think a more accurate translation would be "zealously guards" which is similar to the other, but not quite. --Electro-- aka David M. (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Question about LPub PLIs

(...) it's a complete model. So I suggest a "model tracker". :-) CU Bernd (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Question about LPub PLIs

(...) [snip] (...) Hi Joel, I think there is a way to get the numbers, but it is kind of barbaric (i.e. not through the GUI.). Have LPub not delete the POV files after image rendering. I thnk that this is in the Building Instructions -> (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Question about LPub PLIs

(...) Thanks for the info. I can make do with the PLIs as they are right now; I was just curious. I'm now running into a problem with the Minimum Camera Distance setting. The main model of my project is built on a 32 x 32 baseplate, and I've been (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.cad)
